Snow Day

Winter Cyclone Snow Storm! My school does not give us snow days, so when I was told we would not be having school today and it was not even snowing yet, I was astonished. I even woke up at 4am to take a sneak peek at this cyclone storm we were all bracing for, but it was hardly covering the sidewalks. A few hours later it was a much different scene.
Cyclone is absolutely an accurate description of this storm. I easily get cabin fever and knew I was going to be venturing out in the blizzard but felt well equipped for it. As I stepped outside heading to my local bakery to read the news with a hot cup of coffee, the wind swept up into my face and lungs, briskly proclaiming that pedestrians were to move about at their own risk. I am not exaggerating when I say that the wind was in my face both walking to Rudy's bakery as well as when I was walking back. It blows from every direction.
So as I sit back and enjoy a leisurely snow day with the rest of the east coast, I will cross my fingers for perhaps something that is even more rare than a snow day, a four day weekend!
