Tea Dyed Easter Eggs!
I like traditions! Dying Easter eggs is one such tradition that I enjoy. One of the loveliest batch of eggs I've dyed was done with black tea, old panty hoses, and cilantro leaves.
Materials
Eggs
Fresh Cilantro leaves
Black Tea
Twist ties (or rubber bans, hair ties etc.)
Directions
Find an old pair of panty hoses. Cut the legs into five inch pieces, so it's in the shape of a tube.
Beat one egg white.
Now find a nice lovely cilantro leaf and using the egg white as your glue place the cilantro leaf flat on the egg. Pop the egg into a panty hose tube and twist tie off the ends so the panty hose are stretched tightly over the edge, holding the leaf flat in place. Repeat with the rest of your eggs.
Bring 2 inches of water to a boil in your large pot, with 8 to 10 tea bags. After boiling your tea bags for 10 minutes or more, so your tea is nice and dark. Add your eggs and cover, remove from the heat and set aside 8 to 12 minutes. Drain, cool in ice water, and remove your wrappings!
