Scare Crows & Pumpkins!

The New York Botanical Gardens are a lovely spot to hit up during any season but October is a great time to catch the changing colors and enjoy some Halloween fun.  I went for the Scarecrows & Pumpkins weekend and also got to catch the Chihuly exhibit as well.

Coming from the city you can catch a train out of Grand Central Station and ride right up to the gardens.  The earlier the you are able to arrive the better. The weather was sunny and cool (sweater for the shaded parts, sunglasses for the sunny parts), ideal for strolling around the gardens and forests of the grounds. The Scarecrow pumpkins are awesome, and the kids can get right in the thick of things running in and out of patches filled with gangly stick bodies and silly spooky Jack'O Lantern friends.
